Rel 211 Week4
This week, I have learned about following the example of Jesus Christ by being involved in service, showing love for one another and sharing truths. One scripture that was particularly meaningful was Matthew 20:26-28. In this passage, Jesus teaches us that there is no greater glory than humbly serving others. While the world views status or success as the key to greatness, Jesus teaches us the opposite; He views true greatness as being humble, caring for others and helping them. My classmates' posts were beneficial to me as well because they helped me realize that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a positive impact on someone's life. I have also been reflecting upon Luke 10:25-28 about loving God and loving your neighbors. The simplicity of the gospel was pleasing to me because Christ so simply illustrated the most important things: We are to love God above all else and treat everyone around us with love and kindness. This has caused me to reflect on how charity is such an integral part of everyday life. One additional scripture that caught my attention this week is Alma 17:2-3. The Sons of Mosiah had the ability to teach with power because they had diligently studied the scriptures, prayed and received revelation. As I prepared for my teaching assignment, I realized that not only does teaching others help you to learn more fully yourself but also to understand their thoughts and perspectives.
